Elaboration Instructions:
This teething ring is strung differently than other teething rings. Because we wanted to keep this tutorial a bit shorter and focus more on this specific shape. If jij are not yet familiar with the basics of making a teething ring, we recommend that jij first read the basic tutorial here –> Basic tutorial. For creating the pentagon shape we used safety beads at the corners. This is different from the standard. Jij go through one hole and back through the other.
Jij first ride all the way up until jij are Round. Then jij calmly start shifting This Beads. At first, don’t pull too hard; instead, gently slide the beads toward each other, segment by segment of the pentagon, using a little pulling, pushing and sliding. Because of the way the safety beads are positioned, they will provide some resistance, so they won’t slide easily. If jij pull harder, jij tighten the safety Bead, which will only increase the resistance.
If jij have pushed all the beads a little close together, then only then do jij tie two knots right away. At that moment jij can pull the teething ring nice and tight. After that, jij will thread back in two directions. Once jij reach a safety cage, work from the inside. Do not insert into the first hole, but into the farthest hole from where jij are working. Then insert back from above through the nearest hole and continue to the next side. Keep your cord tight as jij work.
Once jij have reassembled it, tie another double knot. By threading two additional beads to the side with both threads, jij can pull the knot out. Cut off the ends! Congratulations, jij have made a beautiful Pentagon teething ring!
Love,
Team Jootjes

DISCLAIMER: In this guide, the teething ring is made from satin cord and is therefore very durable. Satin cord is very sturdy due to the way it is produced (weaving/textile processing) and provides a lot of grip/friction on the knots. These knots therefore do not come loose easily when tightened tightly. However, wear is always possible with any product jij use; that is simply a fact.
Jootjes Haakcadeautjes does not produce the teething ring itself and can never be held liable for potential damage caused by loose teething rings. We present a method for making the teething rings that, in our view, is a very reliable method. Production and use of a teething ring, however, is always at your own responsibility. Jootjes Haakcadeautjes can never be held responsible for damage resulting from the use of a teething ring produced based on this manual. In any case, our advice is strict. Always use teething toys only under the supervision of a responsible adult!
